How to Become a RevOps Analyst in the UK
RevOps (revenue operations) analysts help sales, marketing and customer success teams work from the same data and processes. You maintain the CRM, build pipeline and forecast reports, analyse conversion and churn, fix data quality problems and improve how leads move from marketing to sales to renewal.
RevOps is a relatively new function, mostly found in software and subscription businesses. There is no set qualification. Most people move in from sales operations, marketing operations, sales support or data analyst roles.

How to become a RevOps analyst in the UK
Employers look for strong CRM skills, usually in Salesforce or HubSpot, plus confident Excel or Google Sheets and often SQL and a BI tool such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker. A degree in business, maths or economics is common but not essential. Many RevOps analysts start as a sales development representative, sales or marketing operations assistant or CRM administrator, then move across. Vendor training, such as the Salesforce Administrator certification or HubSpot Academy courses, can show baseline skills. A Level 4 data analyst apprenticeship is another way to build the analysis side.
- Get hands-on with a CRM, ideally Salesforce or HubSpot, by taking a sales operations, CRM administrator or sales support role.
- Complete free HubSpot Academy courses or Salesforce Trailhead modules, and consider the Salesforce Administrator certification if your target employers use it.
- Learn the core subscription metrics, such as pipeline coverage, win rate, churn, net revenue retention and customer acquisition cost.
- Build a pipeline and forecast dashboard in a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker, using sample or anonymised data.
- Learn enough SQL to pull and join data from CRM, billing and marketing systems for analysis.
- Apply for RevOps, sales operations and marketing operations analyst roles at software and subscription businesses.

RevOps Analyst FAQs
How do I become a RevOps analyst in the UK?

Do you need a degree to work in RevOps?
No. Many RevOps analysts have business or numerate degrees, but employers mainly want CRM skills, data analysis and an understanding of how sales and marketing teams work. Vendor training and certifications can help if you do not have a degree.
