What is TonyKnows and how does it work?
TonyKnows sells six focused UK career assessments. You pay once for the one that answers your question, answer at your own pace, and get a full report: software scores and ranks your answers, the written explanation only explains, and every fact carries its source where one exists. The career and course guides are free to read.
Which assessment should I start with?
Career Compass if you do not know what direction suits you. Pathway Planner if you have a direction and need the realistic route. Career Change if you are in work and unsure how far to move. Work Fit if you are comparing roles or employers. Career Strengths and Work Personality add evidence about how you think and how you prefer to work. The free selector on the assessments page asks one question and points you to the right one.
How long does each assessment take?
Between about 8 and 25 minutes depending on the assessment: Career Compass 15-18, Career Strengths 20-25, Work Personality 10-12, Career Change 12-15, Work Fit 8-10, Pathway Planner 8-12. Nothing is timed, every answer is saved as you go, and you can finish later on any device.
How much does it cost?
Each assessment is £19.99, paid once before you start, with the complete report included. Any three are £39.99 and all six are £59.99. There is no subscription and nothing further to pay to see your results. The price shown is the price you pay.
Is the full report included?
Yes. Every section of the report is included in the one payment, as a web page saved to your account and as a designed PDF you can download. Nothing is held back for a second payment.
What if the report gets me wrong?
Email support@tonyknows.co.uk and say what looks wrong. A person reads the answers you actually gave against the report that came out of them. If they genuinely disagree, or the report came back too thin to be any use, you get a free retake and keep the original too. If the report does match your answers and you read it differently, we will show you how it reached that result instead. We refund rather than retake where you were charged but got nothing, were charged twice, the assessment was not as described, or a retake cannot fix it. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
Can I take an assessment again?
Each purchase includes one completed assessment. If you want a fresh attempt later, buy the assessment again: you get a new report and your earlier report stays in your account.
What if report generation fails?
Your answers are saved and you can retry at no cost. Scoring is done by software; if the written explanation cannot be generated, a factual version is shown and flagged for review.
Is TonyKnows scientifically validated?
Not yet. The assessments are designed using established career-psychology frameworks with original TonyKnows items in pilot. The methodology page says exactly what is and is not validated, and we do not claim accuracy figures.
Will it tell me exactly what job to do?
No, and that is deliberate. Reports show components of fit, the evidence behind each suggestion, trade-offs and practical readiness, so you can investigate options rather than take a single verdict on trust.
Who can buy and take the assessments?
The paid assessments are for adults aged 18 or over, bought and taken by the same person. They are not yet open to under-18s, even when a parent buys; a supervised flow for younger participants is being reviewed. Under-18s can use the free career guides.
Do I need an account to buy?
For the paid assessments, yes, so your report is saved to you and you can return on another device. You don't have to create one before paying: we set it up from the email you give at checkout and send you a link that signs you in. To unlock a CV in CV Studio, you sign in or create a free account first, so the purchase stays with your CV. Send it for me needs no account; we email your order updates to the address you give at checkout. The career and course guides and the free tools need no account.
What payment methods do you accept?
You buy from Tony Knows Ltd, and card payments are processed securely by Stripe, so we never see your full card details. Most debit and credit cards are accepted, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay on supported devices. The price shown is the full amount: we are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added, and the payment form shows your total before you confirm.
How much does a CV from CV Studio cost?
Building and previewing your CV and its matching cover letter in CV Studio is free. To download that CV and cover letter, you pay £4.99 once, with no subscription. The unlock also includes AI writing help, up to 60 AI actions. You need a free account to buy, so the unlock stays with your CV on any device, and if CV Studio isn't right for you, email us within 14 days for a refund.
Can you post my resignation letter for me?
Yes. Write your letter with the free resignation letter builder, then choose Send it for me. You approve the exact proof, and we print that and post it to your employer by Royal Mail: Signed For (1st Class) for £8.99, or Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm for £18.99. Both are signed for on delivery, so you can see when it arrived and who signed for it, and we email you when it is posted and delivered. Orders placed by 2pm on a working day are posted the same day; later orders the next working day. UK addresses only. You can cancel for a full refund until it is posted.
Do you store my personal data?
We store what is needed to run your assessment, save your report and support your account. Your answers and reports are private to your account. See the privacy policy for details.
I bought the Career Assessment, Career Matches or the Career Blueprint before. What happens to that?
Nothing changes. Everything you bought stays in your account exactly as purchased. A Career Assessment purchase is honoured as Career Compass. Those earlier products are no longer sold.
Is Career Progress membership available?
Not at the moment. The membership is paused; existing members keep their access for the period they paid for.
