How it works
- Choose a design - Pick the look you want. The letter takes the same header, fonts and colours as the CV.
- Write it for the job - Add the job and the employer, and the letter is written with you from your CV: why this role, what you have done that fits, and when you can start.
- Download both - Pay £4.99 once for the CV and the letter, as PDF and Word. Edit and download again any time.
What goes in a UK cover letter
Address it to a named person if the advert gives one; otherwise "Dear Hiring Manager" is fine. Say which job you are applying for in the first line.
Then two or three short paragraphs: why this role and this employer, the two or three things you have done that match what the advert asks for, and what you would bring. Close by saying you would welcome an interview and when you are available.
Sign off "Yours sincerely" when you have used their name and "Yours faithfully" when you have not.
How long should a cover letter be?
One page, usually three to five short paragraphs. The letter is there to point the reader to the parts of your CV that fit the job, not to repeat the CV.
One letter per application
A letter written for the job reads very differently from one sent everywhere. Keep the design and your details, and change the opening, the examples and the employer for each application.

Cover letter questions
Can I buy the cover letter without the CV?
The letter comes with the CV: £4.99 once covers both, in the same design. You can write and preview them free before paying.
Does the cover letter come in Word?
Yes. You get the CV and the cover letter as PDF and as Word files you can edit, in the design you chose.
Can I change the letter for each job?
Yes. Edit the letter for each application and download it again as often as you like. You only pay once.
Is a cover letter still needed in the UK?
When the advert asks for one, or lets you add one, send it: it is your chance to say why you want this job. When an application only takes a CV, the CV goes on its own.
