How TonyKnows thinks.
Interests, work style, environment, strengths and real-world constraints are kept separate, and feed one Career Profile and a list of UK options to investigate. TonyKnows is career decision support. It does not promise one perfect career.
Career activity profiles derive from TonyKnows career guide data and are labelled proposed, curated or reviewed. Route, qualification and pay facts are shown with a source and checked date where a verified UK source exists (National Careers Service, ONS ASHE, Skills England, Careers Wales, Skills Development Scotland, nidirect, professional bodies); otherwise the report says the fact is unverified and tells you what to check. We never show an unsourced salary figure as fact.
Frameworks we build on: Holland's RIASEC model of vocational interests, Big Five-informed work-style dimensions, person-environment fit research, and the 2025 EFPA Test Review Model as the quality benchmark. Items are original TonyKnows content; nothing is copied from proprietary instruments.
Matching is deterministic: the same answers always produce the same ranking, and nothing is ranked by the written explanation, by adverts or by affiliate links.
Where a report shows a fact from the National Careers Service, ONS or another public body, it is Crown copyright reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0, with the source page and the date we checked it shown beside the fact.
Judge the method by the report: read the full sample Career Compass report, or see how the assessments work.
