What a UK CV needs

1. Two pages, A4 - Two pages is the norm in the UK; one is fine early in your career. Recruiters read the top half of page one first, so that is where your strongest evidence goes.
2. A short personal statement - Three or four lines at the top: what you do, what you are good at, and the kind of role you want next. Write it last, once the rest of the CV shows what is true.
3. Achievements, not duties - Under each job, say what changed because you were there, with a number where you can: customers served, money saved, people trained, targets beaten.
4. Leave out what UK employers do not need - No photo, date of birth, marital status or nationality, and no need for references on the CV. Employers ask for referees later, and leaving personal details off avoids any question of discrimination.

How do I make a CV with no experience?

Lead with a personal statement and a skills section, then put education, projects, volunteering and part-time work above anything else. Give each skill a real example from school, college, volunteering or home life. The Launch template is built for first jobs and puts these sections first.

Will application tracking systems read my CV?

Every template uses real, selectable text in a single reading order, never images, with your contact details in the body of the page rather than a header, which is what online application systems need. No design can promise how a particular employer's system scores a CV, so a plain-text copy is there for forms that ask you to paste it.
